Fundamentals - Thank You and Next Steps

Hello dancers!

Thank you for joining us in March for our Fundamentals classes! We hope that we will see you for more fundamentals level learning soon!

We've had a few queries about the next four weeks, about whether it will be a continuation or intermediate + level. We can confirm it will be intermediate level. Our level description is pasted from our website below:

INTERMEDIATE

A dancer who has more than a year of experience with dancing Balboa and Swing and is familiar with the terminology and shapes that the dance is known for. Some of these terms can include "up-holds", "down-holds", "come around", "lollies", "throw-outs" and "out and ins". Although a dancer can have more years of experience, sometimes they wish to develop the skills of these standard shapes to a greater degree and capability.

For fundamental dancers who wish to keep their learning going, Louis and Moe will be running a fundamentals workshop in a few weeks specifically on the throwout. This workshop will develop and refine this core move in the balboa repertoire. We would love to see you there!

Fundamentals: Throw-out Intensive

This class is aimed at newer balboa dancers who want to work on this fundamental bal-swing move. If you have been taking fundamentals classes and you want more practice, or perhaps you’re a lindy hopper and you want to work out exactly what those balboa dancers on the floor are doing, then this is the class for you. We will look at core technique, different exits and entrances, and some fun variations. While this class is primarily aimed at newer dancers, we encourage those interested in learning the opposite role and intermediate dancers looking to refine their technique to also sign up!
